Going into Gang Rulz, a lot is on the line for a lot of people, especially the members of "The Next Dark Fantasy." Every championship that the group has will be defended. Tommy Valentine and Ravyn Taylor have the honor of defending the SCW World Tag Team Championships, while Syren is busy trying her best to prove that she is the true SCW World Champion, in a unification match with Shilo Valiant, and two other competitors. On the flip side, the lone member not defending a championship at Gang Rulz is still involved in a match involving a championship, but he's a challenger, rather than the champion.

That man is David Helms, and that championship is the Adrenaline Championship.

David Helms is walking into a match where he's looking at capturing the Adrenaline Championship for a second time. On the flip side, however, is the reigning, defending, two-time Adrenaline Champion, Jake Starr. The two have a storied history together, and it truly culminates inside the ring, with the championship both claim to have reinvented the Adrenaline Division, and brought it back from the brink of extinction. That's why there is a lot at stake between the two in this battle. It is also why this, their third meeting, could be the most important of the bunch.

In their first two encounters, the World Championship was on the line. Jake Starr was, arguably, the biggest name in Supreme Championship Wrestling, and David Helms was, without a doubt, the fastest up and coming sensation.

Now, they're both established.

Now, they both have a storied history all their own.

Unfortunately, the two also see this as their biggest and most important match because of the fact that David is looking to prove that his defection to join the likes of Dark Fantasy was the right move. David is out to prove that, while it has been quite a while since he's been a true champion in Supreme Championship Wrestling, it doesn't mean he has lost his ability to do so. Jake, on the other hand, is out to prove that he was the one carrying The Next Level, when they were all members of The Brotherhood. He's also out to try and prove that he is capable of doing the one thing he HAS NOT been able to do in SCW, and that's beat David Helms!

It's an obsession for Jake. Since losing the rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, Jake has been waiting for the moment to get back to that level. Everyone knows it's been Jake's desire to become the World Champion again, but in his mind Helms is the man who is responsible for him not being at that point. In his mind, had he been able to win that, he wouldn't be overlooked as much as he has been. Jake truly believes beating Helms will change his fortune. Jake believes that people will stop overlooking him, if he can beat the man who has already commanded a lot of respect from the masses.

See, even with what happened at Breakdown, Jake doesn't feel his World Title shot is a "lock." In his mind, there is no guarantee until the "suits" put it on the books, and the contract is signed, so he knows he has to go out there, and compete time after time. And with Gang Rulz truly just over the horizon, the clock is ticking for people to get their final verbal shots in.

It's an opportunity Jake will not pass up.

The camera wastes no time fading in on Jake, with a tight shot of the Adrenaline Champion the first thing to be seen. In Jake's eyes, there is a slight look of cockiness, stemming from the events of Breakdown. It was something that Jake knows the world is curious about, and can't wait to dish on.

Jake Starr: To many out there, the events of Breakdown sure seemed a bit uncharacteristic for me. Hell, I have even heard people say that I had completely flipped my lid, by having a little "sit down," or "meeting of the minds," if you will, with the SCW upper management crew. It was something that, honestly, I felt needed to happen, I mean, think about it... We're so far apart on what we believe, there needed to be some kind of formal meeting. So I thought to myself, and I wondered what would be a good way to do said meeting, then I turned on ESPN, and they were covering the NHL lockout. My first reaction was to think there actually had been a settlement, and I'd get to watch something other than bouncy-ball, but I was wrong, and deeply saddened...

... But I digress...

It showed me that maybe I shouldn't resort to such angry acts as beating people with chairs, or such obscene acts as feeling the need to go drop a deuce in the Dark Fantasy bathroom, only to hope they really keep that door tightly shut so it has time to really permeate the room. Thinking about the lockout told me that I could maybe have a meeting with them in their own setting. I wanted them to look at me, much like they look at each other, only this time with more clothes on. More importantly, since my days of trolling Shawn Winters, no group of people have ducked me so vehemently, as the SCW BORED of Directors. So I wanted to give them a piece of my mind, in their setting, with nowhere to go. It was their safe house that I crashed, I ransacked, and I took the FUCK over.

It was fun!

A WHOLE lot of FUN!

Who wouldn't have fun sitting at the table with the incompetent minds of SCW, and listening to their squabbling, trying to put together something that made SENSE, and I can honestly say, had I not been there, and I hate to divulge the "happenings" of the creative booking team, but you'd probably be looking at a first ever "Rape Whistle Match," between Godwin and Hannibal, who, let's all agree, looks like he's probably already the victim of some sort of repressed childhood memory. The premise was, they'd all be dressed as the Gimp from Pulp Fiction, and have a whistle jammed in their mouth. The whole point was for them to crawl around until one of them got raped by some hayseed, and the last man to blow their whistle was the winner. It would have given the winner the ability to A) admit they're less rapeable than the other, B) admit they could take it in the doodie-hole longer, or C) say they crawled just a little faster than their counterpart. I mean, yeah, I bet it would bring some ratings, but it probably wouldn't be the target SCW demo.

But seriously, those are the ideas those morons were throwing around, like they had just discovered a new and vital element of life. It was the most disturbing thing I have ever seen in my life. It even beat out having to accidentally walk in on Christy Matthews naked in the locker room...

Jake quivers at the thought.

So I decided to make that little board meeting a little more productive, and force them to finally start to give me some damn answers. See, we all know I have been clamoring on and on about this for a while now, and we all also know that these dicks have done nothing about the FACTS I've brought to their attention. They've continually looked the other way, and pushed other people to the top, ahead of me. They've brought every reason under the sun for doing it, and they expect me to be OK with it. And since I wasn't, I decided to put the facts right under their fucking noses!

Now... Once it was in front of their face, and they had to look me in the eye and try to rationalize themselves. It was something that didn't last long, and QUICKLY turned into the case where they opted to simply admit their defeat. They finally put it on the table. They finally agreed to give me what I RIGHTFULLY have deserved for some time. They have finally admitted their guilt in obstructing me, and look what is going to happen... At Body, Heart, and Soul, I am going to walk in as the SCW Adrenaline Champion, and I'm going to leave BOTH the Adrenaline AND World Heavyweight Champion. It's something that I don't have to think about, I don't have to worry about, and I don't have to rant about anymore. It's locked in place.

Granted I have to behave a little!

Now that whole clause of me behaving is one I can deal with, I think. I think I can go out there and mind my P's and Q's, as long as everyone else does the same. See, I'm all for being nice, and not going after someone who has been unprovoked. I think I can manage that. No random mental field trips to the batting cages, nothing like that. HOWEVER... If someone gets some wild hair up their ass, and decides they want to entice me, all bets are off. It's something the board would understand, and if they don't, I damn sure guarantee they WILL. I don't think they fancy me getting their particle board conference table all scuffed up, so I don't think they would really care much for a second "mind meld" with yours truly... Although I could be wrong! They do have that knack for coming up with STUPID ideas, and not thinking clearly, so let me just put it bluntly...

Jake walks toward the camera, getting within just a few inches of the lens. His voice has a definite over-modulation to it, as he almost shouts into the camera's microphone.

IF SOMEONE PROVOKES ME I'M KICKING THEIR ASS, AND YOU WILL DO JUST LIKE YOU DID BEFORE, AND TURN THE OTHER FUCKING CHEEK!

Jake then backs up. His breath steamed up the lens, which slowly clears up as he returns to his previous position.

Now... Hopefully we have all of that settled! Onto the more pressing matters at hand...

In just a few hours, I am going to walk out there, in front of thousands of fans, and walk into a match that is, arguably the most important of my career. It's not a match that is for a World Championship, but instead, is one where I have to go out there, defend my Adrenaline Championship, and completely prove to the world that I am truly superior to someone, the likes of David Helms. Everyone is so well aware of how things have gone in the past, between he and I, both personally and professionally. They know my luck against David isn't really the best.

That's why I have to make sure this time turns out different than the last time!

A lot of people wonder how in the hell I can possibly think that this will be any different than the last time. People wonder exactly how I can fathom that David won't make short work of me, and I'll lose my title. It's actually quite easy... Unlike before, I am not under the delusion that I cannot be beaten, like I stated before. The problem is, David is severely delusional about the FACTS of REALITY. He made a big-ass stink about how my time is apparently up. He compared me to Greg Cherry, as having seen our better days in our rearview mirror, but the problem with that is, Greg is the man who took that World Championship away from Helms, shortly after he won it. So apparently I'm not as good as the guy who beat me once, then I have OWNED since? And by OWNED, I mean NEVER LOST THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TO HIM?

Oh yeah... Makes sense!

See, David is someone who thinks that just because he has said something, it is gospel fact. He has completely forgotten a lot of the facts that are associated with out respective careers. If you look at JUST the wins and losses associated with our respective SCW careers, I have over TWENTY more victories than him. This is something that you can't deny. You can't deny the number of wins are greater in my favor, and arguably far superior to that of his wins. Along with that, look at how many pieces of gold we've each had around our waists... In my career, I have notched SIX total championships. That includes TWO reigns as World Champion. David is stuck at FOUR. No... He's not a Supreme Champion. He has YET to WIN the Tag Team Championships. I don't care how he tries to spin it, he hasn't won everything yet, and I will do everything I can to keep things that way!

Lastly, and this is probably the quintessential "crowning achievement" on what tells me where reality is far different than it was two years ago... I haven't proven to be a hypocrite. I haven't gone out there and basically stated that everything he had based his ENTIRE CAREER on, was a lie. That means everything that he based his entire reign as ANY champion, was a lie. That tells me that everything he tried to do, and everything he stood for, isn't what anyone should expect. Everyone should expect the same, tired, typical, "bad guy," attitude. It's nothing that will be original, because David realizes he has no way to shine. He realizes that he has to differentiate himself from a large group who all act the same way. He realizes that he has to come into this match knowing that I'm not going to have any kind of worry on how I should treat a friend. I can treat him JUST like I would any other piece of shit, and make sure he realizes just who Jake Starr really fucking is!

I just don't think David realizes how things really are, though. I don't think he realizes how many people he has truly turned his back on. I also don't quite comprehend why he thinks it's so funny about what he did. Hurting people emotionally isn't funny. More importantly, if you're going to go out there and pull a stunt like that, you need to make sure you realize FULLY what you're doing. David hasn't done that. He has NO CLUE about the can of worms he's opened. See, he only thinks that he has gone out there and upset me, Greg, and some fans whom he doesn't know personally, or have any emotional connection with. Unfortunately, there are others out there. There are those who David had personal contact with, and while their feelings may not matter to Helms, they matter a WHOLE HELL OF A LOT to me... One person in particular...

The camera slowly zooms out to see Jake's wife, Roeper, coming into frame for one of the first times in Jake's wrestling career. She has a very angry look on her face, and is decked out in her "ring gear." She wastes no time in delivering a shoot of her own, directed solely at the likes of David Helms.

Roeper Hart: David, I know you look at me as someone who is weak, and doesn't have any business being in the world of wrestling. Well I'm not. I'm not weak, and no matter how you try and spin it, I can prove it. I've stepped up and done things you can't do, and couldn't ever do. This industry thinks that it is tough, and incapable of being done by certain people, when in fact, there are avenues to which ANYONE, including you, could work your way in, and work your way to the top...

... And believe me, you've done them all!

Some people in this world are low, David. Some are willing to do whatever it takes, to whomever it takes, in order to try and get ahead. You're obviously one of those people. For the years that I have known you, you've shared your most intimate moments of your life with Jake and I, and you made us both think you cared about us, much like we cared about you, and believe it or not, you made us both believe you were genuine about it. In my eyes, though, I have slowly begun to realize how full of shit you really are, and more importantly, what an utter piece of shit you are. I'm sorry, when you're willing to bring people into your home, show the vulnerable side to yourself when you just lost the possibility of being a parent. It was a moment where we felt for you, and deeply cared for you. We wanted to be there for you more than ever. Then after that, you completely stabbed those people in the back, you show me what your true colors are.

Black!

Having duped us into caring for you in your darkest moment, I almost see it as a blessing to humanity...

Jake goes wide-eyed, realizing his wife just threw a deep dig at Helms that definitely reflects how personal this has hit her.

... You're a piece of shit, David, and God knows we don't need more of them in this world. That's how you make me feel now, and you bring out the same kind of anger in me, that you seem to relish in. That's not OK with me, David. It's not OK with me to be some kind of cruel, inhumane, and evil person like you have been to us, and think that it's acceptable. I don't know where that idea got over as a "good one," but apparently you're far less intelligent than I once pegged you as.

But the world knows that...

The world has seen what you're truly about...

The world realizes that David Helms is more out for David Helms than Jake Starr is for himself...

No matter how much you want to try and insult Jake for what he wants, you're the same, if not far worse. Jake has gone out there and done it all, while you've simply sat back, and tried to weasel your way into opportunities. You never were able to EARN your way to the top like Jake, and in fact, the only way you ever got there was because you kissed enough ass, and Jake did enough stumping of his OWN for his FRIEND, to get you that chance. After that ONE CHANCE, you have been a fish out of water, never being able to amount to much of a damn thing. You're someone who was in Jake's shadow, and getting attention because of it, and all you did was hop over to another shadow, hoping it was bigger.

Nobody is bigger than my husband!

This very fact is why, for the first time in my entire life, I am going to be walking out there, along side Jake, and going to watch you accept that realization first hand. That's right David, you're going to have to man-up, and realize that those you have hurt are coming for you, as a whole. Once Jake BEATS you, embarrasses you, and makes all of your little friends admit DEFEAT, I will step into that ring, and I will ENJOY the moment when I get to slap your backstabbing ass in the face! It's something that I have wanted more and more each day that passes. I want to make sure that you not only feel how much you have gotten to Jake, but how much you have hurt others too. I want to get my one shot on you, and I want to ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

Jake smirks, and feels quite impressed with his wife. For her first "speaking" role on camera, she came out, guns blazing, and definitely stood by his side as an equal partner in this battle against Helms. He takes control of the shoot, and starts off by showing how much pride he has in Roeper, for being willing to do what she has already done.

Jake Starr: That should tell you something, David. The fact that Roeper has come out here, and decided to tell you that losing a child, in hindsight, is a good thing, and been willing to go through EVERYTHING to get prepared to step out from behind the scenes, should tell you how serious this is. She's gone through physical and emotional training, feeling that this was something that would open her up to many new challenges and many new dangers, but she's willing to put herself up to it because of how important this is to the BOTH of us.

Now, I guess before I go any further, I want to cut you off. This wasn't my idea. This was her idea. Roeper wanted to come out here and tell you what she thought, and she wants to go out there and, apparently, slap your dumbass in the face. I could EASILY go out there, on my own, and beat your ass down. I don't need Roeper there to help me win. I will say, though, I am MORE than happy to have her by my side, though. I'm proud that Roeper will be out there watching me. I have been waiting for that moment for years. It actually will be a hell of a motivational tool for me to use against YOU!

See David... When you did what you did, first by turning on the world, and then by trying to end my career with that chair shot to the jaw, you made things a lot more personal with BOTH Roeper and I. You made this match about FAR MORE than just an Adrenaline Championship Belt, a chance for me to continue saying that I am the rightful heir to the World Championship throne, bragging rights, and things like that.

You made it, now, about fighting for the honor of MY FAMILY!

Man, when you turned on us, you didn't do it just professionally. You were the guy who I considered FAMILY. I brought you into my house, let you care for my wife and my child, and you repaid US like this?! Do you realize how that made me feel? Do you realize how it made Roeper feel? You crossed several lines that bring my emotion to a level you will have NEVER seen or encountered in the past. It's also something that I can't guarantee you'll survive, either. See, when it comes to my family, I have no boundaries. I don't hold back. I ensure they're safety and their happiness above and beyond anything else. That's why this isn't just about the belt, anymore. That's why it's about the honor of my family. You crossed me, and now, you must realize that it was the WORST mistake in your life.

You can hurt me all you want... You can beat me up... But the minute you impact my family, that is when the game changes. THAT is when you become someone with a death wish.

So with that being said... At Gang Rulz, I WILL be passing sentence on your ass!

Roeper steps up as well for one last statement of her own.

Roeper Hart: And David... No matter how many bitches you surround yourself with, and how much you THINK you know, the truth is, you have NO CLUE about how real this cliche is...

"Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn!"

Jake smirks.

Jake Starr: ... Trust me... Payback will be what it ALWAYS is... A cruel BITCH!

As Jake throws that final verbal punch toward Helms, Roeper tightens in next to her husband, and Jake immediately extends his arm around her. He reaches his opposite hand across and pats the belt, which has been draped over his shoulder, as if saying, "This is mine!" Both Roeper and Jake have very intense looks on their faces, and show a solid state of unity as the scene slowly fades out.

For Roeper, her goal was to show that, while this will be her first time at the side of her husband, and it being in such a monumental match, she is ready to finally take her place in the spotlight. She wanted to make sure David was well aware of the fact that she wasn't going to be the "soft hearted wife," who would be likely to beg for Jake's safety, but rather be there to ensure that, while she may not be able to "outwrestle" some of the female members of the SCW roster, she would be able to go out there and take things to the "street," if the necessity called for it.

In Jake's mind, there is a slight level of concern. He's always wanted Roeper by his side, and knows it will be a moment he will relish, win or lose. He knows that, ultimately, he will become accustomed to her standing out there with him, and will enjoy the support of someone he can trust at all times.

If he can win, and Roeper be right there to enjoy it with him, it'll be a moment where they can look at all of the negative moments that have plagued them recently, and move on from them. It'll be the chance where they can move on TOGETHER, and know that, while David and Tommy laughed first, they laughed last, and ultimately won the war.

The big question is, would the win hold as much clout as Jake believes it could? Would this remove the doubt of those people who have continued to critique him? Or would it simply be another win that people chalk up to luck, someone being on the decline, or some other excuse? One thing is for sure, if we're to find out the answer to that question, Jake must overcome the most difficult challenge in his career, and most importantly, he must win!
