With every victory, Jake Starr felt that he was getting closer and closer to the primary goal that has been his desire, since he came back from injury. Every time he walked back into that locker room, with his head held high, he felt the excuses that the members of the SCW Booking Committee would continue to wane. He felt that with each passing day, the clock was ticking until the day he'd get his opportunity to finally become the World Heavyweight Champion for a THIRD time.
Unfortunately for Jake, he seemingly is wrong at every pass...
So far the world of Supreme Championship Wrestling has continued to turn Jake's desires on its head, and stymied his hopes and dreams.
When he walked back into the locker room, at Breakdown, after beating Eric Matthews, Jake figured that he would see the rewards finally begin to trickle his way. He figured there would be some moment when the management would finally bite the bullet, and tell Jake he had finally proven them wrong, and would receive the match he wants. When he heard that things were, once again, not going to go his way, the disappointment hit him far harder than in the past. Inside his locker room, he hauled off and put a massive dent into one of the metallic lockers with his fists. His emotions poured out to the point where Roeper, who had been accompanying Jake behind the scenes to events, even opted to leave on her own, knowing Jake wouldn't be in the mood for any company.
When Jake returned to the hotel room, he broke down in front of Roeper and vented. It was a side of Jake, in his professional stature, that she had not seen in a long time, years even. Jake had not been this emotional over decisions management has made at his expense since the days when he would go out, and simply demand chances at championships that he had never even worked to earn. This moment, to Roeper, was very similar to those, but in this case, she can tell this isn't a moment where Jake feels he's entitled to anything he hasn't earned, but more cheated out of something he worked hard for.
That night, she didn't even know how to comfort her husband. All she knew to do was try and listen if he opted to vent, and vent he didn't. He stayed silent, with an angry glare on his face. It was at that moment she knew this was something that he would just have to deal with on his own, and she'd never be able to be the cathartic assistance that her husband would need.
After they return home, Jake gets wind that the following Breakdown card had been released to the public, and Jake's name was on it. He immediately hears that Thirteen is being pushed his direction, and the emotion begins to boil over yet again. Thirteen is a man who has received multiple chances at the World Heavyweight Championship, and also embodies someone whose number Jake has ALWAYS had. When Jake hears the name, he feels as if he's the "tune up" for Thirteen's fatal four-way at Gang Rulz, rather than getting the chance to prove he's more deserving than Thirteen for the opportunity to vie for the highest prize in the business.
It's this emotion that forces Jake to finally decide that his silence should be broken. It's the feeling of wanting to be back on top that has continued to push him to try to get back to that highest point, but it is the lack of respect in this drive, and the fact he has taken the match with Thirteen as a mocking of his push, that has let things boil over to the point it has.
In a way to vent, and let the steam out, Jake has opted to do something he's never done in the past. He walks over to his laptop, and flips it open and immediately sets up an account on YouTube. Realizing that YouTube has a knack for unnecessarily pulling videos from its service that it deems inappropriate, he opts for to go to Ustream, and do a live promo over the net, and air all of his grievances live to the world. As he hits record, he sends word out to his fans, and the fans begin to creep in. Once several are there watching, Jake begins to vent, loudly and vehemently, lashing out at everyone and everything that is on his mind.
Jake Starr: For almost two years, I've sat back, and I've waited. I've waited as patiently as one could expect me to wait, and I've done every fucking thing I could imagine to do, in order to get some fucking recognition for everything that I have accomplished in Supreme Championship Wrestling, and I've gotten NOTHING! Every time I have walked out there, beaten someone who was considered the next prodigal son, or golden boy of professional wrestling, and then looked to upper fucking management to hand me the opportunity I have EARNED, what do they do?
The same... Fucking... Thing...
Yeah... These guys are the same douchebags who said I didn't have passion. They're the ones who thought they could go out there, and label me as something OTHER than the best in the fucking business. They've wanted to label me as greedy... As impatient... As cocky... As anything but the guy who has gone out there, jumped through whatever Goddamn hoop they threw in front of me, and proved to the world that I've done MORE THAN ENOUGH to earn my shot at the World Championship of Supreme Championship Wrestling.
Jake pauses in his diatribe. His blood is boiling over, feeling slighted more so than ever.
Now, before I say anything, let me add something for those of you out there who are one of the naysayers, one of the people who have EVER wanted to label me anything but the guy who could KICK YOUR ASS... This organization has always been built around competition. It's supposed to be the place where the true BEST are rewarded for their SUCCESSES, and the politics simply are pushed by the wayside. It's supposed to be the fucking antithesis of everything that the Social Misfits fought against, and now, more than EVER, it's succumbing to the pressures of politics. So if you think I'm greedy, FUCK YOU!
Greedy is someone who hasn't done anything to earn a shot. Greedy is someone who thinks they just deserve it for being them, or because they came back. When I came back at Taking Hold of the Flame, under the OSMR persona, I knew that was going to be my ONLY shot to jump up into the limelight without doing anything else. I knew that if I wanted to work my way back up, I'd have to earn it. So I did that! I worked my way through every fucking member of Greaternity thrown my way, even after everyone said I would lose to them. I then went on to topple Thirteen, Collin Cole, David Miller, Adam Allocco AGAIN, and hell, when David and Tommy weren't being dick-sniffs, we beat Syren, Allocco, and Cade, all at once. So if you think I'm greedy, you're simply a piece of shit. You're someone who doesn't know what it means.
Ultimately, YOU'RE JEALOUS!
After the slight interlude, directed specifically at the groups that tend to come out en masse to rally against him, Jake moves forward with his original point.
See, I've walked these halls for several years now. I've seen greed in its many forms and fashions, and for a while, YEAH, I was pretty fucking greedy. I went out there, and I demanded stuff because, for lack of a better way of putting it, I was and AM Jake Starr. Then I went through a bit of a funk, and I kind of had my reality check. I realized that I was going to have to go out there and prove myself. I realized that if I wanted something, I needed to remove ANY argument that I was just demanding title shots again. I needed to go out there and DEFINE who I was, and make sure people knew there wasn't a doubt of what I deserve. I wanted to go out there and make sure that when I called out the World Champion, whomever it was, nobody would have a fucking chance to argue.
I did that!
I proved myself!
I showed what I could do!
So did that deter anyone? Did it shut down the critics? Did they say, "You know, Jake, you're right! You have earned a that coveted spot."?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK NO!
What it did do was cause people to go out there, and simply revert their asses back to the SAME TIRED SCHTICK that they've turned to, whenever their personal jealousy is kicked on because of me. They realize that they can't do what I do. They realize they can't go out there, night after night, and compete on levels that FAR SURPASS those of the rest of the world. They have this internal desire to be just like me, and night after night, they realize they can't fucking do it. They can't go out there and match the stamina, the desire, the passion, the EVERYTHING, that I bring to the table, so they simply resort to trying their luck at playing fucking politics! They go out and they rally the troops to try and keep me from having any chance at success, and apparently, they've begun to succeed. They've begun to raise enough of an audible hell that fuckwads in the front office are listening. And that is NOT something I'm OK with!
I'm not OK with being cast aside...
I'm not OK with playing some kind of second fiddle to others who haven't done what I have done...
I'm not OK with not being the fucking best!
Jake smirks very sarcastically, still disbelieving everything that has gone on around him recently, in SCW.
... But apparently that's something that seemingly means NOTHING to those who make the decisions around here!
After I plowed my way through the Chamber Match, and proved TO THE WORLD that nothing was going to slow me down from getting to the top, not even a fucking broken jaw, there was no other logical conclusion but to say that I would be one of the next guys in line. Hell, I say that even after I said I understood about Shilo needing to unify the titles being of slightly higher precedence. But instead of that being the case, and the world seeing something along the lines of "Syren versus Shilo, winner faces Jake," we see people like Savior and Thirteen coming in, joining the party that I am supposed to be a part of, and everyone looking at me saying, "Oh Jake, something about the Trios Tournament, which you weren't even invited to, makes this whole embarrassment completely OK! So, yeah, deal with it!"
Umm... No! How about that?
How about everyone else take into account that I, Jake MOTHER FUCKING Starr, am the guy who has NEVER LOST to either Thirteen OR Christian Savior? How about the fact that I, Jake THE RIGHTFUL FUCKING HEIR TO THE THRONE Starr, am the ONE AND ONLY who ended Thirteen's reign atop the Adrenaline Division? How about the fact that I have not received ANYTHING pertaining to the World Championship, except for a couple of overly-gimmicked matches, that truthfully included people who shouldn't have even been involved in the first place, in almost TWO FUCKING YEARS?! I mean hell, Greg Cherry's gotten a World Title shot because he asked, where's my piece of that puzzle?
Oh wait...
I know...
I've solved the riddle...
Passion, right?
No... That's not it...
It's because a lot of people still don't fucking respect me around here. They think they are the creme de la creme of this organization because they weasel their way in with upper management, and force their way into every waking moment of cards. They think that because they are the focal point, they're in charge, and apparently, that has some merit now. Apparently that does hold weight. Apparently they CAN hold me back. How else can you THEN explain the very fact that even with the atrocity that has befallen Gang Rulz, that Jake Starr was left off of the fucking ballot for the End of the Year Title Shot? Seriously... Go look... The guy who has been teased, had that fucking carrot dangling in front of his face for almost TWO YEARS, and has been blatantly honest about his desires is NOWHERE to be found. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't expect I would have won. That poll is a glorified "who's the best ass kisser to others" type of thing, but still... To completely omit me is a fucking sham.
The tension continues to build on Jake. For two years he's been giving SCW everything he has, and doing what he thought would ultimately land him at the point he wants to land in, but it hasn't. It's been a struggle that's landed him in a continual state of disappointment, and a feeling of being nothing but disrespected. It's this feeling of disrespect that used to motivate him, and now simply angers him day-in and day-out.
Am I surprised, no... Well... Some... See, like I said, SCW was always the one place that was devoid of these types of completely blatant displays of favoritism. It was always the place where people who succeeded got rewarded, and now, it's turned into a joke. It's something I thought would have long-since been righted, but I don't see any end in sight. I see them trying to line me up for failure after failure, all so that they can keep me from having the chance I want more than anything.
Needless to say, in my eyes, this has turned MORE than fucking personal!
I don't know who is truly behind the scenes pulling the strings. I don't know who has such a fucking huge bone up their ass, that they feel the need to hold me back, and dick me over, but I WILL find out. I will go to the ends of the Earth, each fucking corner of the locker room, under every desk in the board rooms at SCW HQ, and I will find the asshole who is responsible. I won't be nice... It's not going to be something where people watch and say, "Oh man I can't wait to see what he does next week," no... It'll be something that gets me answers, gets me results, and makes things RIGHT once and for all. It won't be something that the SUITS can go around and duck me on, or hide from. They'll be forced to answer me.
Jake lets out repeated deep breaths, showing the emotion churning in his body.
See, I know this may seem a big different from how I normally am, but there just comes a point when everyone begins to crack. Sure, this may not be the typical, "Jake cuts an emotional promo, but still stays true to his on-screen persona" type of promo, and that's because it isn't. This is Jake Starr, pissed the FUCK off! This is Jake Starr after he's been strung along on too many failed relationships, only to find out he was being used. This is Jake Starr who is out to get his revenge, and make some people feel just like he does. This isn't Jake Starr trying to appeal to anyone, and I'm sorry... When the shit gets real, I get MORE than fucking real!
But the truth is, and we all know this, no matter how much I hem and haw about things, no matter how many times I point out the hypocrisies in the system, hell no matter if they came out and ADMITTED what they were doing, it wouldn't change the minds of the IDIOTS who continually try to say, "Oh Jake Starr ALWAYS gets what he wants, and ALWAYS is demanding title shots." It wouldn't change their clouded and farcical perception. Hell, if I went out, beat them, and the entire roster in one night, I'd STILL hear people say I wasn't deserving.
So that is why I'm officially doing things my way, with a "fuck it all" mentality. I don't care what I have to do to make them shut their stupid pie holes, and accept REALITY, but it will be done. And if it's not done come January, on my two year anniversary of the last time I faced a World Champion ONE ON ONE, then I guarantee nobody will like the consequences!
In a nutshell, to all of you who this includes... You have beckoned the Social Misfit, and now you must accept what you have brought on yourselves!
A snarl begins to grumble from the lips of Jake Starr. This emotion is something that he has not felt in some time. It's an emotion that has lead him to see to the collapse of organizations who did many a-similar thing, and in the back of his mind, it's a scary notion. Jake has done everything he could to move forward from the chaotic and down-right destructive mentality that got him blacklisted from so many places, but the incessant politicking with his career has brought that inner demon back to the surface, and it's only a matter of time before it becomes the driving force, versus the man who has become synonymous with Supreme Championship Wrestling for the past several years.
Feeling that emotion, Jake tries his best to calm himself down, and alter the focus away from his anger. It's not something done easily, or well for that matter, yet he does everything he can to steer the focus back to the immediate matter at hand.
So... There you have it... You have the prophesy that could ultimately lead to a forced mea culpa by the powers that be, or simply on the flip side, face harsh punishment. Until that moment comes, guess what I'm going to do? I'm not going to try and avoid the inevitable clash because it's already written in the stars. It's as if my path of destruction is the true Apocalypse that all of the Mayan forecasters have been awaiting. It's something that was decided long before it got me to this point.
So I live with it...
I accept it...
I understand what it means...
And instead of hiding, I just look at how I can make it, well, more enjoyable to myself. And DAMN let me tell you that Breakdown is seemingly more and more an opportunity to really kick it off with a bang, don't you think? I mean, look at who the "bright" minds put in my path this time? I mean, hell, makes perfect sense to me, as I'm sure it does the rest of you!
"Let's just tease Jake some more, shall we?"
When those dummies went around their little room, all sitting at their elementary school desks, taking turns raising their hands so the big important teacher call on them, they continued their streak of saying dumb shit, that makes no sense, and if it does, it angers far more than it helps. I mean, Thirteen? Really? What sense does it make putting me into a match with a guy I have continued to school, time and time again? It makes NONE! The only thing that it could possibly matter with, is if by beating him, I took his spot in the World Title Match!
... And let's face it, we all know that GOOD IDEA wouldn't happen unless it was proposed by certain people who seemingly have more pull around here.
Regardless, I have to go into the match with a guy I've beaten on multiple occasions. Each time, the world thought that he was going to be the guy who knocked me off of my high horse. I mean imagine that, would you? Imagine if he had. Would I have still felt this confident, in my status as the rightful opponent to whomever won between Shilo and Syren? Hell, would I even be the Adrenaline Champion? Wouldn't it make more sense if he was the one climbing back up the ladder, and trying to beat me for that "quality win" that puts him into contention, rather than being the guy who has already SQUANDERED away a chance at the World Championship, and ultimately has to use some other means to get another, thus screwing me? Allowing this shit to happen time and time again is what is causing SCW to simply lose its luster among the stars, and they can't figure out that when it was big, I WAS ON TOP!
So it's simple, what the solution here is. Jake Starr beats Thirteen, and does so in a manner that isn't "convincing," like a dominant win over Eric Matthews or Dylan Howell, but more along the lines of "convincing," like what happens when your opponent isn't able to even walk out under his own power. THAT, my friends, is my goal. I don't just want people to see me beat anyone anymore, I want them to feel it. I want their bones to ache from watching me inflict so much punishment, and so much damage, that the mere idea of walking again makes people tear up. I want those in the back to beg and plead to NOT be involved with me, much like certain people have been since I beat them with a chair, to GIFT their paper World Championship.
Thirteen will be my example!
I don't expect parents to come out there and like their kids seeing what I plan to do. I don't expect parents to approve of what I plan to do. I plan on the ADULTS in the room, who realize what in the hell has been going on, to fully UNDERSTAND what I do, though. I expect them to sit back, and realize that I'm simply doing what needs to be done, and not pass judgment onto me, just like I wouldn't on them, if the roles were reversed because trust me... Many will question why I am willing to go to such degrees.
Jake's emotions continue to rage within his body. His heart beats quickly, and the amount of tension has the vein in his neck showing the world just how fast blood is churning through his body. He stretches his neck to each side, before wrapping up.
Thirteen, we've tangled in the past, just as regular opponents. One time, you were someone I chased, wanting to rebuild the division many thought you were the cock of the wok at. I took you down, and I showed you who the BEST will ALWAYS be. Now, you are getting GIFTS that also belong to me. No matter who disagrees, the fact is those opportunities you've gotten should have come my way LONG before they ever crossed your path. It's something I've been DAMN bitter about for some time now, and up until now, been able to repress. Now, it's all out there, and it's in your fucking face. It's been paraded in front of me for so long, all I want to do is make sure you go in with ZERO chance of success. I don't want you getting to walk around like you EARNED anything because we both know you didn't!
This match is my opportunity to look at one of the "contenders," who the DUMMIES selected as "relevant," and embarrass them. This is my chance to simply show the world what RAW FUCKING EMOTION does to a person, when they get THIS FIRED UP, and people begin to ignore them. It does not bode well for anyone. It does not bode well for SCW. It damn sure doesn't even bode well for me, but you know... Sometimes you have to be a martyr. That's who I am, and that is who I will be. I'll show the world that, while my friend Agent oo6 came up with the moniker for himself, and used it as a cool little nickname, there will be nobody better to embody it than me...
Consider this the rebirth of the true Starr Martyr!
Jake leans in, close to the camera, giving one final comment, directed at everyone who has doubted him, questioned him, or second guessed him.
Now how's that for fucking passion, assholes?
After those final words, Jake doesn't waste his time telling people goodbye, and simply hits the "stop" button, ending the recording. He knows that his words were harsh, and in some cases probably crossed many lines within the world of what SCW management deems appropriate, but the fact is, Jake's emotion needed to be shown to the world. The world needed to hear what he had to say, and how deeply this apparent blackballing of him has hit him.
Going forward, Jake doesn't know how it will be received. He, honestly, doesn't care either. The fact he was able to vent, and the fact that he didn't have to resort to doing things behind the scenes, or doing things without being man enough to stand by his words, was the cathartic moment he needed, and he hopes that going forward, he'll be able to move away from this emotion, and try and get his head back on straight.
