Life has been a roller coaster for Jake Starr, lately. One minute, he's got a happy family life and is pretty miserable in his professional life, then he began to enjoy his professional life again along with his family life, then the see-saw continued, as Jake's personal life began to desolve into turmoil, while his professional life continued to, once again, skyrocket upward. It's an imbalance that Jake has wanted to correct, but unfortunately hasn't succeeded in doing so, and some have wondered if it's beginning to get to him.
Going into Taking Hold of the Flame, Jake seemed determined. Whatever his problems at home were, his promos showed a definite desire to get back on top, and win. Unfortunately for Jake, it didn't happen. It wasn't for a lack of trying, but seemingly more so due to fatigue from the sheer amount of time he was stuck in there, with all of those other competitors. Some of those people close to Jake have suggested that Jake could have pushed through, and even won, had everything at home been smoother than it is.
Nevertheless, it'll be a question that remains a mystery, for the most part. This past weekend Jake went into his original home, the Outsider Wrestling Federation, and marked his return with a shocking and triumphant win over the, now former, World Heavyweight Champion, Chaimber. It was a victory that pushed Jake in a positive direction, telling him that the possibilities of truly returning to form are there. It was a victory that gave him a confidence boost, both about his career, and his home life...
Yes, it even effected him at home...
One might be curious how something like winning a World Championship in an organization, that is just a microchosm of what it once was, could truly boost someone privately, but it did Jake. It was that "bright spot" that he had been searching for. Up until that point, things weren't shining as brightly as they could have. Jake wasn't going to be main eventing Rise to Greatness, and more importantly, his title match for the Adrenaline Championship seemed to be so far off, it was turning into more of a "rumored" event, rather than and up and comer. So the victory gave him something to smile about. On top of that, it was a moment that his entire family could forget about the nastiness they've been dealing with.
But unfortunately, it was a short-lived celebration. It was short-lived because once Jake returned home from winning the OWF World Championship, he realized that his family was still in a world of jeopardy. Stepping back into his own home reminded him that his in-laws were out to take his child from he and his wife. He realized that there was a battle that was still being waged, and needed to be fought.
Before fully settling into his normal "post event" routine, Jake made a call to his lawyer. He was tired of the waiting, and being out of the loop, and needed a lot of assurance that things were going to be ok. Rather than giving Jake the reassurance he needed, the lawyer opted to stop in for a visit. He assumed that eventually there would come a point where Jake would be wanting answers, and it'd be up to him to provide those answers. He knew when that day rolled around, he'd have to be ready to show his entire hand to his client, and not keep him in the dark if things were not looking good. And the day has now arrived, where he has to do just that.
As Jake waited for his lawyer's arrival, he unpacked, and began to unwind. He knew he had to clear his mind from his performing, and begin to, once again, focus on the task at hand, and that is keeping his family fully together. After several expected hours of waiting, though, his lawyer finally arrived. It was a welcome sight for Jake, seeing the man who has done so much to get him the answers he's wanted, there to give him the full scoop on everything going on with the case.
After letting the lawyer in, Jake escorts him to the entertainment room. In passing by the kitchen, Jake offers the man a drink, which the lawyer politely refuses. The lawyer can easily sense the nerves in Jake's voice, and understands that Jake is fighting to try and keep them at bay. As the two make it into the entertainment room, both men take a seat, and rather than wait for Jake to "ask the right question," the lawyer decides to jump right into the knowledge that he has, regarding the case with Jake's family.
Lawyer: Alright... So here is what I know... Ron and Alice came up with some kind of document that basically made every accusation they could, under the sun. From what I could snuff out about it, they really decided to try and pull any and every string to try and make things as legit as possible...
Jake gulps, beginning to feel more and more uneasy. He takes a deep breath, and keeps on listening.
Lawyer: ... But honestly, if you ask me, everything they have put together makes for one hell of a purely circumstantial case, at best. Most of the accusations they have zero proof of, and they know it. Ultimately, these accusations couldn't ever come close to being proven, and shouldn't even be considered, if you ask me.
Jake looks a bit confused.
Jake Starr: So... Why would Child Protective Services even take the case on, if everything is based on a whole crap load of nothing?
The lawyer shrugs.
Lawyer: Honestly, the best thing I could figure out is that you're just a victim of an overzealous CPS agent. I honestly believe she's looking to make a major name for herself, by using you to make an example. I have seen her type come and go so many times. A lot of these types of agents get these same types of weak cases, then get this wild hair up their rears, and begin to see it as an opportunity. On top of it all, they see a celebrity name, and think they, somehow, will be able to make enough of a case that their name gets out in the media, and they get attention for themselves.
Jake rolls his eyes, feeling even more used by this agent.
Jake Starr: Oh... Lovely!
Lawyer: Yeah... Unfortunately, these agents are quite plentiful in the legal system. But truthfully, you have nothing to worry about. There is no judge out there, that would let this go. The agent even knows it, too... And I have it on good authority that she is beginning to realize, more and more, that her case doesn't hold any water.
Jake Starr: How so?
The lawyer smirks.
Lawyer: Let's just say that PI that your friend hired got wind that she's tried to get a lot of personal information on you and your family.
Jake is taken aback by the comment. It's something that really strikes a nerve with him, making him feel that the CPS agency is going even deeper into his personal life without any just cause.
Jake Starr: ... So what kind of information are they looking for?
Lawyer: They've tried to get your credit information, bank account info, criminal records of everyone in the family, things like that. Honestly I wouldn't consider it terribly important because I have seen your file, and I know it's squeaky clean. You can add that on top of the fact she's staked you out, and... AND... If you take into account the fact she had her thugs try and put a tracking device on your car, you know she's grasping at straws. If you ask me... I wouldn't be surprised to see her try another power play, hoping to intimidate you and your family again.
After hearing everything that the woman has tried, Jake begins to feel his body fill with anger and rage. His inner-hostility quickly boils to the surface.
Jake Starr: If she does, you believe me, I'll be ready!
Lawyer: Don't worry, Jake... She could basically try strong-arming Mara away again, and you could simply say "no." It's a power you have. If ever Mara was really going to be taken away from you, I would be the first to know about it, most likely.
Jake is taken aback again. This time, more stunned than anything.
Jake Starr: Wait... You'd know first? Why would you know first? If something is about to happen to my family, I want to know immediately.
The lawyer realizes how it may have originally sounded, and knows he needs to better explain himself.
Lawyer: Basically, Jake, here's how those scenarios work... If someone is about to lose their child, or they're merely being taken into custody, the courts tend to tell someone "official" before telling the family themselves. If they tell the parents, the odds are pretty good that the parents could flee, or do something drastic. If an "officiant" knows about it, and passes it along, things tend to happen more smoothly. The whole idea is becoming more and more "common practice."
The explanation makes Jake understand a little more. He responds by simply nodding to his lawyer.
Lawyer: ... But like I said, Jake, that scenario is one that you will never have to see. If she even tries to take this thing to court, we have a plan of our own, fighting back with harassment charges against their agency.
Jake, you're in the PERFECT position to hold all of the cards, especially now, with everything we know about their case. Ron and Alice are simply at a point where they are hoping that CPS finds something. On top of it all, I've been drawing up some paperwork of our own for defamation against their agency, if you so choose to pursue it after.
Jake nods.
Jake Starr: I've definitely considered retaliating legally. It definitely would be nice to hit them back, where it counts.
Lawyer: ... I also have a motion for a restraining order that I've been working on getting filed as well. Alice and Ron are still in the dark, thinking you two don't know they're behind it. I think blindsiding them with this order, and making them realize they've been busted, would definitely send a message that you're ahead of the curve.
Jake Starr: Knowing Ron, it won't matter in the least. That guy is a stubborn idiot, and would simply think of it as a "challenge."
The lawyer chuckles.
Lawyer: If Ron wants to try and face the restraining order, and the law, then I would welcome it. Ron would probably look pretty fancy in a orange jumpsuit, if you ask me.
Jake pictures Ron behind bars, and in the stereotypical, bright, orange, jumpsuit. The thought makes him laugh to himself.
Even with the thoughts, and the humor, he rubs his eyes, feeling a lot of the effects of his, rather strenuous, schedule lately. Out of the blue, there is a knocking at his front door. It's a sound that makes Jake and his lawyer both look at each other with a bit of confusion. Neither know who it could be, as all known parties are accounted for, and in various rooms throughout Jake's house.
Lawyer: ... You expecting anyone?
Jake shakes his head.
Jake Starr: Nuh uh... Shawn and Roxie are both out of town and Brandon is asleep in the guest bedroom.
Jake really begins to wonder who it could be.
As the two sit there, still in a state of confusion, the doorbell rings several times, showing that whoever is visiting is beginning to get impatient with the door not being answered.
Jake finally shrugs, and makes his way to the door, leaving his lawyer waiting back in the entertainment room. As Jake reaches the door, the lawyer can hear the door open. When the door fully opens, Jake's look goes immediately from curious, to shocked, to angry.
Jake Starr: WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?!
A shocking voice yells in response.
Woman's Voice: WHERE IS SHE?!
The voice is one the lawyer immediately recognizes as the voice of the CPS agent.
The agent tries to barge her way into Jake's house, but is immediately cut off by Jake.
Jake Starr: I don't think so!
CPS Agent: I DEMAND to know where she is!
Jake knows he has to play dumb.
Jake Starr: Who?
CPS Agent: Roeper! I KNOW you have done something to her and Mara. Neither of them have been seen going or coming from this household in multiple weeks! The last time we saw her, she was entering the house...
Jake has to fight the urge to chuckle, knowing exactly where his wife and daughter were all along. It builds to the point where his poker face becomes difficult to hold, as the urge to completely laugh in the face of the agent becomes more and more unbearable. He forces himself to take a deep breath, knowing his poker face keeps his hand close to the vest, and the woman's knowledge of what he knows at bay.
Jake Starr: ... Or maybe your little "Super Troopers" were simply a couple of stooges who couldn't open their eyes, and see two feet in front of themselves.
This "poking" at her fellow agents further irritates the woman.
CPS Agent: Do NOT insult them! You have a lot of gaul doing that!
Jake Starr: Well you have a lot of gaul having those two goons stalk my family!
CPS Agent: Once again, I'm demanding I get to investigate where Roeper and Mara are.
Jake Starr: Well... Sad for you! You're not setting one damn foot inside here.
CPS Agent: You have a lot of nerve trying to stop me, sir!
From behind Jake, his lawyer appears, completely blindsiding the CPS agent. She had no idea he was there.
Lawyer: Ma'am, you are the one who has the nerve, here. You have a lot of guts showing up on Jake's doorstep even when you were EXPLICITLY told not to do so. The fact you're now trying to force your way in, without any warrant or right to even be on the property, is a pretty bold move on your part.
The agent simply scowls at the man.
Lawyer: ... And I know your type... I've seen your types come and go, and you can bet that we'll be making a claim against you personally, once all is said and done.
The woman just rolls her eyes, and lets the lawyers words roll off her back.
Lawyer: Like I said... I demand to know what Jake did to Roeper and to Mara. I have EVERY RIGHT to ensure their safety.
Jake is immediately shocked to hear that the woman is implying he did something to harm them, and immediately calls her out.
Jake Starr: I WOULDN'T DO A DAMN THING TO HARM MY WIFE AND CHILD! The fact you have even insinuated that makes me want to...
The woman immediately interrupts Jake.
Lawyer: ... Want to what, Jake? What would you do to me, huh? Seriously, what? What is it you want to do?
The lawyer puts his hand on Jake's shoulder, and Jake peeks back. In his lawyer's eyes, he can see a look telling him to simply try and relax.
Lawyer: Jake... Just ignore her!
Out of nowhere, the door swings open even more. There, now, stands Roeper, holding Mara, having apparently snuck back home, from staying with Jake's parents, without being seen. It's a sight that immediately stuns the agent, never expecting to see Roeper and Mara both there, and both perfectly healthy.
As Roeper stands there, she glares at the woman with a very angered look in her eyes.
Roeper Hart: Well... Obviously I am doing just fine! But I want you to make sure and let my parents know that once all this is over with, they'll be dead to me!
The agent's eyes go wide, as she is shocked to learn that they're aware of the CPS's supposed "ace in the hole." At the same time, however, the lawyer cringes, hoping to have kept the knowledge, that they were holding as their trump card, close to the vest until the time was right, but since Roeper unknowingly played it for them, he realizes he has no choice but to double down, and double down now.
Lawyer: When you pass that information along, be sure to let them know that they'll also be receiving a restraining order as well, once it's signed off on.
The agent leans back, slightly, feeling the brunt of the information just thrown her way.
Lawyer: ... Now... You are fully welcome to leave, and take your little goons that have been stalking my clients with you. If I even hear one PEEP of your guys still harassing them, there will be so many lawsuits filed against your agency, you will wish you were working at Burger King!
Jake smirks and reaches out, grabbing the edge of the door. He slowly pulls the door closed, and enjoys watching it slowly shut on the agent's face. As the door latches, Jake lets out a definite sigh of relief, and looks over at his wife. Roeper lets out a pseudo-smile, showing a little more confidence in her desire to stand up against her parents, and their meddling with her family.
With everyone now fully aware of the situation, on both sides, the true legal battles will begin. Jake knows that Ron and Alice will be stunned, and probably rather annoyed, that their surprise has been spoiled, knowing they would have tried to somehow try and play both ends against the middle, in the end. With that, now, out of the realm of possibility, Jake and Roeper know they'll be in for a much dirtier fight.
Moving forward, however, it's almost a sign of relief for the couple. There are no secrets in this battle anymore, and there is nothing they're in the dark about. It's now a matter of knowing what they have to prepare for going forward. They know that they will be able to get their ducks in a row before they meet up with Roeper's parents in whatever legal battle comes about.
For Jake, on a professional level, with everything out in the open, he'll be able to turn the attention back to having big matches coming up, and also, now, a World Championship to defend as well. If he can, once again, balance life, it'll mark a true return to the past for Jake. He'll have everything set, and he'll be ready.
Jake Starr: So apparently my abilities to be the next living, breathing, and practicing mentalist, like Karnak, wasn't all that successful...
Well... For the most part, it wasn't!
Going into the pay-per view, I had high hopes, high aspirations, high desires, high, well, everything. I was firing on all cylinders, and I was ready to take the battle royal, at Taking Hold of the Flame, by storm. I'll admit, for a while, I did just that. I was having my share of close calls, and eliminations, and people really started to think that I could have a real shot. Hell, I was apparently impressing several people with as long as I was actually surviving with all of the fresher guys. There were times that I was scared that things were going to end even sooner than they did, and I pulled through, but in the end, yes, I still came up short.
So there was my first mistaken prediction. I thought I was going to go in there, I was going to win, and I was going to finally get a chance to main event Rise to Greatness.
Silly me...
Number two was more of the "long shot" prediction I made, although it wasn't quite a prediction. I asked to be number one, and I asked to be allowed to go in there to see just how long I could go, and if I could truly run the table. I wanted to be able to say I ran through everyone, on my way to the top, but sadly, it didn't happen. Instead I was number 14... And honestly I thought it was an omen because when I was in elementary, and each kid in the class was assigned a number, from 3rd until 6th grade, I was 14. So... I was trying to see the silver lining, and it wasn't there either!
Boy don't I look like a silly goose now?
Jake holds up one finger, as if to say, "hang on."
Don't worry... It gets better!
Next thing I did was I called out the fact that we would be seeing the triumphant return of James Exeter, and much like my hopes that Miss Cleo had truly given me the winning Powerball numbers, he decides to make me look like a fool. Now, I will say that this is one of those where I don't feel as much like a buffoon as the others, only because I got word from a friend of a friend, who knows a guy, who's friends with a cop, that knew a Mountie once in Toronto, that said Exeter was pulled over with a tranny named Divine Brown... It was either that, or he got his story confused with Hugh Grant. Nevertheless, he was supposedly on his way to the arena that night, and didn't make it!
My prediction train with the "mystery entrants" didn't continue to crash and burn with Exeter. See, I made the call about the Chad Marshall and Ace Evans entrances, and neither of them showed up either. THAT, indeed, surprised me too. That is one I would have bet the house on. Hell, I would have bet my Adrenaline Championship match on that one, if I had the chance. I was that confident that Marshall Evans and Chad Ace would show up. They're two guys who LOVE to try and shock the world, and steal chances from others, so Taking Hold of the Flame was the PERFECT opportunity. So... I guess that I was just...
Jake interrupts himself, by holding his hand up to his ear like a reporter who has just received breaking news. He looks to the side, with a shocked look on his face.
Wait!
What?!
Jake looks back at the camera.
We have breaking news regarding the two aforementioned individuals. It turns out that they WERE scheduled to appear, but when I divulged their plans to assist Christy Matthews in ruining the show, they quickly had "prior arrangements" with their personal masseuses, both of whom were named Ricardo, and look like twinks, and...
Jake quickly pauses, as if receiving another alert.
... Fans! Wait!
I retract that previous statement, as we have defined exactly what happened to Evan Almighty and Marshall Dillon... They realized the hype was there for their massive arrival, remembered their reputation of disappointing the masses by not showing up, and knew they couldn't actually pull off the true shocker by being there.
So I'll take that as only a partial miss... Only because I was lucky enough to feel partially responsible for them pulling out.
Jake breaks his "newscaster" pose, and returns to a more "normal" stance.
I will say that all was not lost with my predictions for Taking Hold of the Flame. Sure, I didn't win. Sure, nobody I called as mystery entrants showed up. But the one thing... That one, single, solitary, thing, that did happen, was probably the most delicious, outside of winning. See, if everyone remembers, I called out the hypocrisy of Christy Matthews, and made it clear that I would do EVERYTHING in my power to ensure she didn't win this battle royal, and would have to show how GUTLESS she was, by calling for her title match at Rise to Greatness. I said I would force her hand, and I would EXPOSE her. So I did what I said I would do... I eliminated her bitch-ass. I made sure she was nowhere closer to EARNING her spot at Rise to Greatness, but in fact, is simply in the SAME PLACE she was beforehand.
So it wasn't a complete bust...
And in fact, there was a slight sense of positivity that came out of it!
Jake shrugs, throwing both arms out to the side.
Well folks... There you have it... You have my personal recap of Taking Hold of the Flame. I know you all are utterly thrilled, excited, and enthralled by my ability to sum things up. I know I was...
He rolls his own eyes.
Anyway, it's time to move on from that experience. I knew the chances were relatively slim that I would come out of it. I wanted to win it badly, but it's a crapshoot. It's who wrestled the PERFECT match, and I guess that wasn't me.
So... Next...
The big question is, what is next. Is it the Adrenaline Championship carrot, that they decided to dangle in front of my face, hoping it would shut me up? Actually...
Jake smirks, and opens his mouth, showing he's about to confirm his own rhetorical question.
... No...
Jake's look returns to that of one relatively annoyed.
... Instead it remains a tasty carrot, glazed in maple syrup, and completely out of my reach. It's almost as if I could taste it, but know that it's just done to shut me up, and won't really be something I see for some time.
Unfortunately, it's not my time, yet... Instead, apparently, I have some unfinished business to tend to. Apparently, there are two competitors out there who, in a sense, were responsible for me not being able to emerge victorious at Taking Hold of the Flame, for multiple reasons. Apparently, I get a chance at redemption. Exactly what it gets me down the road, I honestly haven't a clue, but it's something that is supposed to liven the cards up. I'm back to the role of being the "filler guy," or the guy who goes around helping others get setup for greatness.
It won't be fucking happening at Ammo...
I won't be playing the "supporting" role, or helping someone get over just going into Rise to Greatness. I will, however, be proving a point. I will, however, be showing the world that my little slip-ups, have been in a battle royal. Nobody has beaten ME. Nobody has stepped up to the plate, and been able to take me down on their own. Hell, in any competition that has revolved around pinfall or submission, as of late, I've shown I'm a fucking force to be reckoned with...
And news flash, kids... That's what this is!
At Ammo, I walk into another triple threat match with two people who I have a faint history with. On one hand, fairly recent history... On the other, more long-term history.
But let's begin with the recent history, shall we? Let's begin with what happened just a few weeks before Taking Hold of the Flame actually happened. The powers that be had this GRAND idea for there to be this mini battle royal, to basically give the fans a nice foreshadowing of what was to come at the big pay-per view. It was a chance for someone to get the proverbial "golden ticket," and be the last one, the freshest one, the one with the most insight, and the one with the best odds of winning, in the Taking Hold of the Flame match, itself. It was a time when I thought I could really hedge my bets, and have every possible opportunity to scout each person individually, and I didn't get it...
Instead, it was James Evans.
James showed a lot of poise in that match. He showed a lot of that "maple moxy" you hear about. He ran through me, he ran through Syren, he ran through Greg Cherry, and hell, he ran through Adam Allocco, who went on to become the "golden boy" against Shilo. He showed that he was ready, willing, and able to put away the best in SCW, and emerge victorious in a battle royal setting, and he was rewarded rather handsomely. James was handed the keys to the castle, and given an opportunity to have the true "easy way" to a Taking Hold of the Flame victory. But, did he capitalize? Did he grab the bull by the horns, like he did in our mini-battle royal? Did he seize victory?
NO!
James had the best chance to do something very few have ever accomplished. He had the best chance to go in there, be the freshest guy, and eliminate everyone else one by one. He could have gone for the weakest link, and gone from there. Instead, he was in there in less time than it takes me to drop a deuce after some questionable sushi. He literally tried harder to be the last man in, than to use that opportunity to main event Rise to Greatness. And honestly, if you ask me, it's kind of sad to see. I mean, I think highly of James, and what he's been able to do, but honestly, his priorities are clearly a bit skewed. Apparently, in his mind, winning the right to be last was more important than being the last man standing, when it counted.
And that's not something I'm OK with... Not in the least. In my mind, it shows a lot of weakness in a human being, to not be able to finish the deal. It shows someone who didn't want it bad enough, and actually took that slot away from someone who wanted it, like me. See, I wanted that title shot. I wanted to main event Rise to Greatness because of the fact it DEFINES a career. James Exeter... Shawn Winters... Greg Cherry... Thorn... Shilo Valiant... These are names of the guys who have main evented Rise to Greatness since I came to SCW, and guess what... They took advantage of their opportunities. These guys are the ones who stepped up to challenges. These are the guys who would have taken number 40, exploited it for the ADVANTAGE it gives you, and done something special with it...
Not James, though...
Now, he wants to walk into an event, and use me AGAIN to try and resurrect himself? He wants this match to be a chance to redeem himself from his piss-poor performance.
No... It's not happening...
Everyone has been looking at James as one of the up and comers, and one of the true "top guys" of SCW, and more importantly, someone who has surpassed me in SCW's pecking order. Well guess what folks... That's the EXACT thing I've been hearing since I returned. Those words, those fucking words, have been what people have told me since I stepped back in the ring from injury. NOBODY believes in me anymore. Nobody believes I can get back to where I once was. Everyone thinks James can. Well guess what... People doubted me against CHBK and Katie Steward... People doubted me against Adam Allocco AND Porno Lad... Even more importantly, people are ALREADY doubting me, when I step into the ring with Thirteen.
So walking into this match, and when it comes to my "present history," I am going to remedy what happened, and remedy the fact that Evans was given something I would have KILLED FOR, but squandered it away. If people have this desire to put him ahead of me, then guess what is going to happen to those people? They're going to be eating a whole fuckload of crow. They're all going to open their eyes, and they're going to see that everything they thought had passed me by, merely required me to play a little catch-up with it.
Jake cracks his neck to each side. Thinking about Evans's disappointing display at Taking Hold of the Flame built up a lot of tension in his body. At the same time, he knows that Evans isn't his only obstacle going into Ammo.
... Now, I can't simply do this all for getting even with Evans. Like I said... There are TWO types of history. Evans was my recent history, and none other than Jason Zero is my long-term history!
He, like Evans, did something surrounding Taking Hold of the Flame that really upset me. He didn't squander a chance at winning the whole enchilada, but instead, he came back and completely shocked the world by winning. He was a man who, up until that night, was banned from ever having a chance to vie for the World Heavyweight Championship again. It's a man who came in there with his only chance, fighting off everyone who said they wanted it bad, and achieving success.
Having said all of that, I can't fault him. I can't blame him for finding the loophole, and getting a shot at the World Championship. If I were in his position, I would have done the same thing. I wanted it badly, but apparently, not bad enough. So for that... I congratulate him...
Yes... Mark your calendar, tell your friends, call the Pope, I congratulated Jason Zero!
For those of you who are new, or have been living under a rock, Zero and I go WAY back... In fact, we have quite a history when dealing with the World Championship, as well. See, when I walked into the 2 for 1 Special, I was defending the SCW World Championship against three men... One of those who was Jason Zero... And on top of that... He was the reigning and defending IWC World Champion. We both were the poster children. We were the two that had to represent our brands, with the hopes of ending up with TWO BELTS around our waists, and supremacy over TWO brands.
It wasn't Zero's night!
That's right folks... Jake Starr has taken down the illustrious Jason Zero! I walked in the guy nobody expected to win, and I walked out the champion of BOTH SCW and IWC.
Fast forward to today, and you will see a very similar outcome, minus the championships, but first let me explain how the world of professional wrestling works. When someone gets that big win, and they begin their trek toward their "big reward," the powers that be hope to continue their good fortunes with matches that help put them over. It's a goal to help keep that confidence high.
That's where Zero is, and that's what they want.
I'm not playing that game. I'm not here to be Zero's personal whipping boy, and his springboard to go fight Shilo, Christy, or whoever else gets thrown into the match. Instead, I'm going to go in there, and I'm going to repeat what has happened in the past. I'm going in there, and I look at Jason Zero as the guy who literally RIPPED a chance to vie for the World Championship out of my hands. I see him as the guy who took something I wanted, and now, I can really kill him for taking it!
See, I don't see myself as getting more shots at the World Championship. It's not because I'm banned, but because I seemingly am at the point where I'm EASILY overlooked. I have to make statements each time I go out there and perform. I have to go out and topple everyone ahead of me, and fucking force people to look at me like they look at others. I've let too many people pass me by. I've let way too many people down, by being passed over. So if the number one contender gets in my way, I'll make a fucking example of him. He took another one of my opportunities, just like Allocco did.
Jake takes a deep breath, and exhales through his nose.
So that's where I stand today. This is where I have to buck up and shut up. This is my chance to go out there, and make an even bigger statement than anyone could have imagined. This is where I can go out there, and knock off TWO of those guys who I am constantly taking a back seat two. When Ammo ends, I will stand tall. I will beat down Jason Zero and James Evans!
THIS IS MY FUCKING CHANCE!
